If you’re anything like me – a multi-passionate woman full of ideas – then you might feel overwhelmed and often procrastinate. The thing is when you have so many ideas and big projects in mind, many times you have no idea where to start! It can be overwhelming!
I’ve always been creative and always had big dreams but many times the size of my dreams blocked me from achieving them. So I was looking for a solution on how to stop procrastinating and get stuff done!
So here is what I came up with and this works for me.
STEP 1 – BREAK IT DOWN
In order to get moving I needed to break it down to TINY steps. And I mean super tiny! For example, if I need to set up a website, I would literally have to start with listing the topics I wanted to cover and creating a structure. Or if I wanted to created a video, I would literally have to start with writing a simple outline.
BREAK IT DOWN TO SMALL STEPS.
When you have tiny steps to take they don’t seem overwhelming, but by doing them you’ll start doing more and get a lot done!
These steps are known as MITs (Most Important Tasks), but I renamed them into Magically Inspired Actions! 🙂
STEP 2 – WRITE THEM ON A POST-IT
Yes, on a post-it! It’s super simple and easy. No time management programs or planners.
KEEP IT SIMPLE!
Write 3 actions of choice on 3 post-its and stick them on the wall in front of you. These are your MIAs for today! If you choose to do more, fabulous! You probably will because these are so tiny you will feel a bit funny stopping there. But it will help you get started!
When you complete your tasks – take those post-its down. I swear you’ll love the feeling of holding those post-its and KNOWING you got stuff done! For real!
STEP 3 – SET A TIMER!
These tiny actions should take up to 15 minutes max! However I have found the Tomato timer work wonders! I set the timer for 25 minutes and focus on one thing only! YES, ONE THING ONLY!
I know it’s difficult, as we’re so used to multi-tasking, but trust me – you will increase productivity immensely if you do this. Chunk your actions into small steps and time it. You’ll be more focused, get things done, and won’t feel overwhelmed!

STEP 4 – SCHEDULE FUN
Yup, you need to schedule fun. Seriously. Many times we get into our work and forget to have fun. I literally schedule fun stuff and set a timer to remind me. It’s important to reward yourself for all the hard work you’ve done! You’ll feel great and more motivated to get started again tomorrow!
Hope this helps!
